Since the age of 8 years old, Konwana'keren has been paddling with the local canoe club (Onake) in Kahnawa:ke. For the past 13 years, she's quickly risen amongst the competitive ranks and has now earned a spot on the Canadian National Women's Canoe Team. Since 2016, Ms. Diabo has achieved great success within the sport including a series of medals at this past year's Canada Summer Games. Now, Konwana'keren is preparing to join the 2023 Spring & Paracanoe National Training Squad which includes other athletes who have been identified as being on the pathway towards podium performances for the Olympic or Paralympic Games. As a means of helping offset some of the expenditures that comes with traveling and training for such an endeavor, Playground was honored to donate $4,000 towards making Ms. Diabo's dream reality. Playground and the local community wish Konwana'keren the best of luck!
