The Royal Canadian Legion Mohawk Branch 219 held a milestone event on March 25th. The branch, which was founded in 1953 by the then 15-chartered members, has been a place for local veterans and their families to come spend time with one another. As part of its 70th Anniversary, the board and its members hosted a gala for the families of the founding members as a means of showing their appreciation. The event included a colour guard presentation, guest speakers and a fully-catered meal provided by the Rail Coal Fire Bistro. The evening was both emotional and a great tribute to the founding members and their families.
